The Texas Volunteer Management Conference (TVMC), powered by VolunteerNow, stands as a premier learning and leadership professional development conference dedicated to advancing the field of volunteer management.

Since its founding in 1991, TVMC has served as a hub for innovation, professional development, and sector-wide collaboration—equipping organizations with the strategies, insights, and tools needed to build and sustain high-impact volunteer programs.

In 2024, VolunteerNow adopted its build of volunteer solutions. Volunteer Now plays a critical role in building the capacity for organizations seeking to launch, expand, or strategically elevate their volunteer departments. VolunteerNow is one of the nation’s largest volunteer centers, widely recognized for our impact in marshaling 500,000 volunteers to strengthen more than 4,200 non-profit organizations. Our goal at VolunteerNow is to reimagine the future of volunteer impact, making a meaningful difference that is transforming people, organizations, and communities through volunteerism.

For more than three decades, the conference has brought together nationally recognized speakers, trainers, and practitioners who are shaping the future of volunteer engagement. Through dynamic sessions and collaborative learning experiences, TVMC positions itself not only as a conference but as a thought leader in strengthening the infrastructure of volunteerism across nonprofits, public agencies, healthcare institutions, corporations, and educational organizations.

TVMC attendees gain practical frameworks for volunteer recruitment, program design, leadership development, and impact measurement—allowing organizations to more effectively mobilize volunteers as a force for community change.

The conference’s reach and influence has continued to grow. In 2021 and 2022, the conference went digital for the first time, attendance more than doubled from the 2019 in-person audience of 223 participants to a sold-out virtual gathering of 500 professionals. This growth demonstrated both the national demand for high-quality volunteer management training and TVMC’s ability to convene leaders across geographic boundaries.

Participants represent a wide cross-section of sectors, including nonprofits, hospitals, hospices, libraries, municipalities, corporations, schools, government agencies, and independent consultants—all united by a shared commitment to advancing volunteerism.

In October 2024, TVMC introduced its first-ever hybrid conference experience, welcoming over 300 in-person attendees. This milestone reflects TVMC’s continued evolution as a platform that expands access to learning, strengthens professional networks, and empowers organizations to build volunteer programs that drive meaningful community impact.

Today, TVMC continues to serve as a catalyst for leadership, innovation, and capacity building in volunteer management, helping organizations move beyond volunteer coordination to strategic volunteer engagement that strengthens communities across Texas and beyond.
