Now, more than ever before, volunteer engagement professionals have an opportunity to be change agents within their organizations. This interactive workshop will provide tools and strategies for volunteer professionals who want to develop core competencies as change agents and engage skilled volunteers within their organizations. Learn how to respond to emerging trends, issues, and opportunities, and explore how using pilot initiatives, self-directed teams, action planning, and other strategies can build capacity within your organization. By the end of this session, participants will:
- Understand current trends and issues in volunteer engagement
- Understand the nonprofit lifecycle and identify where their organization is in the cycle
- Understand the shift from a culture of volunteer management to a culture of volunteer engagement and how it applies to their organization
- Understand and be able to apply innovations to create sustainable change
- Understand the role of the volunteer engagement professional change management
- Understand the role pilot projects play in introducing new projects and concepts
- Know how to create and sustain effective collaborations
- Know how to cultivate and lead self-directed teams
- Have completed an action plan for change within their organization
