For the first time, there are four different generations in your volunteer base. This is important in keeping an organization active and viable. Embracing the generational diversity is an opportunity to learn from each member of the team. Focus will be placed on the four generations as to how they think about their role on a team, what defines them as a generation, and how to best relate with individuals from different age groups. The motivators of each group will also be discussed.
Learning Objectives
- Determine the different motivators for the four generations.
- Asses the strengths and limits of each group, including the background, communication style, and mindset of each generation.
- Evaluate each generation as to how they are an asset to a team.
